I have four onion plants in my 55 gallon aquarium. They are way too long. The excess plant is just floating at the top. Can you trim this plant?

Also the "onion" part of this plant has disappeared. I guess it disinigrated. I did not plant the "onion" part of the plant. What happened? It seems to be doing well otherwise.

Thanks!

onions are natorious for how long they get. Go ahead and trim the plant. Most plants are pretty tollerable of a trimming now then, as a matter of fact if you plan on keeping most plants with out them over running your aquarium you may have to trim them back every once and a while.
