Operation: Remove Mantis Shrimp

In for the update, i might have to soon do this with a crab hitchhiker o.O

Nothing new right now. I've tried a trap... nothing. I thought I identified his home (as I once saw him in this rock) so I did a dip... nothing. I let the rock sit out for a few minutes... nothing.

The dip was tried at VERY low salt and also VERY high salt.

I'm moving to a new apartment in August... so I think I'm just going to wait until then as I'll have to take the tank down then anyways.....

Here's an idea that I was told comes from crawdad fishing. Put some shrimp bait in the bottom of pantyhose and cinch it off with some rubber bands. When the mantis locks his claws on it, the small serrations will snag on the pantyhose which locks him in place.

Someone also gave me the advice to hit him with a shot of boiling RO water in a syringe - that is if you don't have a problem killing it.

No offense... but that idea (the pantyhose one) is so **** crazy that I may just try it because it makes sense. LOL.

Will let you know.

Yeah let me know. I was literally baiting the pantyhose when I saw my pest crab eating one of my starfish. That's when i decided I had to skip to plan B and empty everything out of the tank to fish him out by hand.
