I saw a vampire pleco (at least thats what it was labeled as) in my LFS last week and they were asking $35 for it. it was about 5 to 6".
Most of the vamps I've seen go for around 30 to 35 bucks in the one and half, two inch range. I've personally paid as high as 50 for one, and I considered them worth it for extra nice patterning/health. It's up to you weather or not you like the fish enough to keep it. I would, but that's me.
