But this is the UK...

To got a Jewel 300 l tank your looking at around £600..

And this one comes with 'cheap looking' filter etc...

Really just want to know if this make should be trusted..

Looks pretty good price for UK.
The filter is probably no name brand, so basically getting spare parts will be hard. Also the light - you get about 1WPG which is hardly enough for a decent planted tank.

But I would buy this one and add some more light. As for the filter - if it breaks then get another one.

That's more the kind of responce I was looking for... it is CHEAP for the UK!!
**** yanks got it too easy, what with their 50 cent gas, outlet malls, mail in voucher offers, dunkin doughnuts, Mountain dew... the list goes on...

Anyways, yeah not too bothered about the filter, as have a Eheim 2026, which will run in parallel with the one supplied.
Can also hook in some additional lighting for my little plants...
