Opinions on underwater lights?

Does it cause changes in fish swimming behavior?
Especially actinic lighting alone. I had numerous occassions where certain fish freaked out when only Actinic lighting were provided for long time, to a point some death occurred, possibly due to effect of lighting to their optic nerves/brain= problem with balance, vision, etc. causing hypertension/stress.

I have used these for a couple of years now and really like them.

The hub allows up to 3 lights for simple change out and I stick 2 to the bottom back of the tank to shine up so not all of the tank is lit up. This way my fish do not have to be in the light and they can get out of the light if they want. My red is not nearly as bright as yours though. It is really neat to sit at night and stare at the ceiling and watch a 2' angelfish shadow swim across the ceiling, plus they ripples from the outlet of my filter and my hydor aerator create some neat designs too. My fish don't seem bothered at all by this either.

I'm not sure what actinic lighting is, but I temporarily put the red landing strip in my guppy tank to see how they would react, and they seemed to actually enjoy it!:jaw-dropping:

I don't turn it on very often though.

I like the moonbeam effect! I have a small led booklight that I rest on the glass cover of my betta, gives a cool white moon effect which doesn't bother him.

Disco guppies? :D

I don't use auxiliary lights during the day, but do have the Current lunar lights at night for a moon-beam effect. Beautiful and is not intrusively bright. I have the blue in the 15 and the white in the 26(only one unit each), the white looks much better, I'll swap the other to white when I get around to it. Looks exactly like you would think moonlight would. Makes for a nice rippling column of light, but still is blacked out around the rest of the tank to not bother the fish that want pitch black to sleep. The cories love it and bask on top of the rock 'tower' in the center of the faint lighting column. Gives you just enough light to observe what goes on in an otherwise pitch black room without the fish being able to see you there.

The testimonials pretty much cover it
