Now before everyone jumps on me, I know this is a terrible stocking situation...but I stocked this tank before finding this site and I am prepared to do the right thing for the benifit of the fish. Currently I have (all juvenille) 2 comets(about 1.5inches each), a calico fantail(about 1inch), a black moor(about 1.5inches) and an oranda(about 1.5inches) oy yeah and one black mystery snail in a 10g. But don't despair, we are currently looking for a new pad. (Bigger and better) What would you recommend for a good tank size for these guys? They are part of the family and are not going to be returned or put in an outdoor pond. We will get a tank to house them in hopes of them having a long, happy life. I'm just not sure what size to be shopping for. Thanks in advance for your help. :help:

Don't blame yourself, blame the people who sold them to you. While you're working on a bigger tank, maybe they could summer outside in a temporary pond? We're setting up a half barrel pond right now for our white clouds. It has been alot of fun.

I imagine so, but it would be pretty easy for backyard predators to get to your fish, wouldn't it? www.fishpondinfo.com is a great place to start planning different kinds of ponds. The one we're setting up is a lined 50 gallon used whiskey barrel cut in half, the kind you see at garden centers.

The comets will need the most space as they will grow the biggest and be the fastest swimmers. And actually 2 tanks would be best, separating thme out as they will eventually start to out compete the slower fancy goldfish. A couple of 55-60 gallon tansk wouldn't be ideal but might be affordable and with constant water changes the fish won't suffer too much.
