Like to topic, what are the ideal conditions for angelfish? Right now my levels are:
pH 7.2, temp 78*, ammonia .025, nitrites 0, nitrates 10 ppm, kH 9*.
I'm working on bringing the pH and kH down to 6.8 and 7 respectively.
Your angels should be fine in that water. Mine are in almost identical conditions, and they're doing great. Messing with lowering kh and ph is a dangerous thing. I'd leave things as is. The ammonia IS a concern though. Verify the reading with another test kit. should be at 0.
I agree - all those levels are fine for angels, the only thing I'd change is the ammonia reading! Your KH and pH are good, I'd leave well enough alone.
my pH was always in the 6's when I was keeping Angels.... but being that they are already in this setup, I would leave that alone.... the last thing you'd want to do is begin messing with the pH (etc.) balances..... your ammonia should always be at zero, not sure why yours is so high.... Angels are delicate and can't deal with the toxicity the ammonia brings..... instead of messing with pH-up or pH-down, do more water changes, or if you already do them a lot, they should be more in volume.
