Hey Everybody

I finally have established a breeding colony on my Giant Trumpets. I know that some of ya'll was wanting to get your hands on some of these so here goes, 1st pay 1st served. Asking $3.00 each, I paid $5 for mine.:lipssealedsmilie:

My longest adult is 3 1/4" long, these that are For Sale or Trade are anywhere around 1/4" give or take. These are babies and they grow somewhat slow but will live a good while. No way to really determine life span but out of the year that I have had them I have only had a possible 2 wild caughts to pass away. These will not breed like crazy, exspecially not like the common red ribbon trumpets. Also the red ribbons will out compete them for food, my guess is b/c of their size it takes more food to survive unlike the common trumpets. They are dark chocolate in appearence with darker swirls on their shells, beautiful. As they mature they loose the swirls on their new growth. Their long trunks put me in the mind of the rabbit snails but do not believe they are releated. These giants will not cross breed with the red ribbons or the quilted melanias, and probaly not with any other tunneling snail but not for sure.
TRADE
I am looking for dark feet briggs and some light foots but mainly dark, let me know what colors you got to trade, must have healthy shells.
Nerites of just about any flavor.
Also the large filter shrimp, Wood Shrimp/Bamboo Shrimp.
Possibly some dwarf shrimp species too.

If you have any questions please ask away. I am including a pic of one of my adults for you to get a peek at what your babies will grow into.

In these pics you can see the red ribbons compared to the giants.

Awesome! Fantastic looking Trumpets.

Regular MTS really only stir the top 1/4-1/2 inch of the substrate (or so I've read) - I wonder if by virtue of their size the larger ones would do an even better job.

I was picturing just larger versions of MTS- but these have longer narrow shells... very cool.

Tempting but I don't have an aquarium not already populated by their younger cousins.

I am VERY interested, but my baby Briggs are not yet ready to go :(

I have 2 or 3 confirmed male dark footed bridgiis. A jade a purple striped and I am not quite sure what to call the third one.

Wycco, I personally think that these giants prefer deeper gravel b/c I catch mine all the time buried straight up and down with only their tips poking out. These will go all the way to the bottom, I am not 100% sure on how much better they stir but they definetly enjoy digging all the way to the bottom. I have never had to manually stir my 4" gravel, and never see bubbles when I vac.

Kyryah,
I may have someone already that is going to swap me for all the briggs that I can handle.

Jackiomy,
How big/old are these briggs b/c I am trying to stick with youngins. Most of my breeding stock is reaching the end of the life and I would like to get nickel babies to replace them.

My guys are almost grown, proven breeders. LOL I am getting rid of the boys because they are obnoxious and they chase the girls around all the time. They are gorgeous though.
