Oranda Goldfish

NOTHING is currently overstocked ... LOL, thanks for your concern though. ;)

IF I were to get her some oranda I would be purchasing a 150g tank that we had our eye on and would most likely stock 3 of them.

ah, the comets are still small I take it.

That would make a very nice home for them ;)

Chocolate orandas

i have fancies in my 50... i used to have a small comet in there but i took him back to the shop cos he was always attacking my fancies and im sure he was the reason for one of them dying...  ive seen chocolate orandas before and they are very rare in the uk!!!!

I've seen them in big petshops here in Dublin and Meath - they don't have any babies like my mini redcap most of the ones I've seen are about the size of 4-5 year old kids fist - email info@pet-bliss.com - they don't sell live fish by mail order but they might be able to point you in the right direction

to be honest, i would put the older goldfish in the 150 gal and the 3 orandas in the 55gal

I cleaned out the 56g today and moved it to another location - I'll be moving the 75g tomorrow to where the 56g once was. That will free up space for a 150-240g to go where the 75g is now ...

Once that big tank is up the 56g will go into storage ;) unless of course the oranda and comet dont get along.

Or another tank set-up ??? I can never seem to get any reasonable sized tank empty :S

Usually it is best to keep them separate, but I haven't thought of mixing the foods (Sinking and Floating). Although, I did give them flakes and they seemed to be alright (1 Oranda, 2 Ryukin, 1 Fantail, 1 Comet). It seemed like the fantail was the one that was the bully :P It seems like it wants to act like a comet :)

Temperature-wise, I had no problems dropping their temp. to the low 60's (even high 50's).
