Oranda VS Ryukin

I'm considering getting goldies soon and I had never heard of trimming the wen on an oranda so I looked it up and found this photo journal story of the wen trimming process. Interesting! http://thegab.org/Articles/SurgeryWen.html

Is this a one time trim job or does it regrow? If it regrows, how often does this need to be done?

i have no clue thats a good question...

Neither. Get a Ranchu, way, waaay cuter! Get a few of them, so they can hang out like a little pack of Goldfish Skin-heads!! :D

I used to have an Oraange/White Ranchu that I named Stompa, after the movie Romper Stomper. He was so cool! ...until he got GUD:(

BTW, make sure it's a Ranchu and not a Lionhead...

The wen will definitely grow back after a while. How fast however, depends on genetic potential, diet, environment, and other factors. I wish I could give you more info, but the surgery is something I have thankfully been able to avoid so far.

i agree on the whole "ranchus are cute" thing, but i don't see them in my near future, soooooooooooooooooooooooo expensive
