I finally have a successful spawn!!! Out of this group of angels, I have 3 mated pairs (didn't think it would happen!). The first 2 pairs have a tendency to eat their eggs, but a 3rd pair recently formed and had their 1st spawn a few days ago. I didn't think it would be successful, but 2 days ago, I had wrigglers. Today, I can see their little eyes!

I can't get good pics of the little guys. I am sooooo excited!! I hope I get a few survivors. There are at least a hundred little tails right now. I think they should be free swimming by tonight or tomorrow. I'll try to upload a pic when I get a good one.

Fingers crossed for me you guys!! :)

They are beautiful Meili! Congrats! And fingers crossed!!:thm::thm:

oh my gosh the one on the bottom middle with the black bars is beautiful

Ok, I have a bunch of free swimmers now. I don't have a good camera on hand to take pics, but they are soooo cute! I did lose a bunch when they escaped from the fry trap to main tank and got eaten by my other angels!! Darn! I immediately moved them to a 10 gal tank with mature sponge. Hope I will get some survivors. I think there are about 20 babies in there.

Today, the same pair just spawned again. Now they are in their own tank, so we'll see how they fair as parents. Hopefully they will be good parents and i won't need to move these babies out till they get older.

I am feeding the babies micro worms, decapped brine shrimp and golden pearls (alternating). Any advise on how to successfully bring these guys up?

those are beautiful angels

feed often (several small feedings) and do small water changes daily to remove uneaten food and mulm .

That one is my wild peruvian altum :) He's gorgeous "in person"!!

:thm::thm::thm:

I have several Wild Peruvian. I have a few males that are stunning with long,long ventral fins.

I love it when the mood spots appear and they go to the black brown color(usually this time of year)

Ive never seen orange fish like that before....neat.
