Ordering Live rock online

Does anybody have any experience ordering live rock online. Live Aquaria has 45 lbs of Fiji Rock for 150 shipped. If I went to my local fish store, I could only get 18 lbs for that price. I would pay about 250 for only 30 lbs, and I would like at least 1.5 lbs per gallon since it will be a reef tank one day. Are there any problems with ordering online. Does anybody know of any better deals, Thanks. PS, its for a 30 gallon aquarium.
 
Live aquaria is owned by Dr. Foster and Smith. Foster and Smith is supplies, LiveAquaria is fish, corals, plants, and live rock
 
Lots of people order live rock online, and it works well. Considering the junk the LFSs here sell, it's a great alternative.

Haven't done LiveAquaria for life rock, but their other livestock has been good.

You might also check out Dr Mac. He often has good package deals for LR.
 
Ive ordered rock from liveaquaria twice. Once it came out great, full of life, the other time it would barely count as base rock. Totally and utterly dead. No coralline, no algae, no critters.
 
Thanks for the Reply Slipknottin, when it arrived with almost nothing on it did you complain, and did they do anything about it.
 
I ordered from etropicals.com, which is the sister site of liveaquaria.com 20lbs of the stuff for my nano it was 90 with shipping. Not bad but it's definitely not the best. Has good coraline algae and algae and didn't have a whole lot of die off when I got it. It didn't have any other tag alongs good or bad either thought. So I'd say I got what I paid for. http://www.tbsaltwater.com/thepackage/organisms.html is a good site, I believe some people here have ordered from them. Great stuff, but you also pay for it.

Nope, I just wont order any livestock from them again. They had their chance.
 
Check out phishybusiness.com I have bought from them and been completely satisfied, and he is close to you.
