Oscar and eel compatability?

1 oscar1 tiretrack eel
1 black ghost knife
a few bala sharks or tinfoil barbs
4-5 clown loaches
3-4 elephantnose
1 synodontis cat
1 pleco

Personally, I wouldn't get the Elephantnoses or the ghost knives. Both can be touchy about water conditions, hard to feed, and are rather shy.. not really a good combo with oscars.

Also, both species emit electrical currents which can disrupt things amongst themselves. Elephantnoses can also be very territorial with one-another. Only 1 elephantnose OR 1 ghostknife should be kept because of these reasons.

Gotta agree with PumaWard to a certain extent. You can try the Black Ghost and Elephantnose together, but keep it to a maximum of one of each fish in that tank. In a post a while back you said you would be getting these all as babies, so in my opinion, in 90 gallons they will have plenty of room to roam for a long time. I would only see possible problems when they get much larger.

Well, the only reason I was considering more than one elephant nose is because in the lfs they were all schooling together, and piling on top of each other. Kinda reminded me of clown loaches.... anyways i just figured they liked to be in schools... i haven't really looked up much info on them. The lfs guy did they say were really sensitive to water conditions, however.

So maybe we will scrap those for now, and also settle on the tinfoil barbs as opposed to the bala sharks.

Yeah its shaping up to be a pretty neat lookin tank. We'll just have to aquascape it properly and voila!

Oh, and one more question, do you think one aquaclear 500 would be sufficient for that stocking level? That's what we have for now, maybe we will add some sort of quickfilter in the future, but you think the 500 is okay for now?

Thanks again guys
