i was just wondering if anybody else has an oscar that enjoys swimming around the tank with the top of it's head and nose out of the water?
bcoz mine seems to really love doing it but i've never seen another oscar do it so i'm not sure if it mean sthere is something wrong with her.
it doesn't really seem like normal behaviour.!

the temp is between 26-28 degrees C.
ph is 7.4
there is air pump and rock in the tank for water movement and i use a aquarworld ef1300 canister filter

Have you tested for ammonia, nitrite, and nitrate readings? :)

Is it active? Eating regularly?

she is fine she swims eats and acts fine..it's just every now and again it seems to want to sniff whats outside the water. she just does it out of nowhere. i was just wondering if anyone has seen any other oscar behave like this.
she does have a very inquisitive personality so maybe she just wants to know whats outside the water.
also what do i need to check amonia and nitrite's and stuff cos i don't know how. cos when i brought the fish and tank they only gave us water conditioner, chlorine neutraliser and i got a ph tester.

You need to test your ammonia, nitrites and nitrates. You need API liquid test kits for accurate results. Not all lfs are well-informed of the fishkeeping basics.
