Oscar Diet

I feed my Oscar Hikari Gold medium pellots. That all I feed her. Can someone give me some choices on how to vary her diet without spending a whole lot of money?

Occasional pieces of a hot dog, frozen food such as beefheart, maybe a little frozen chicken liver etc. . . .

Crickets, dried krill, earthworms (chopped if she is small)

Ya may wanna stay away from hotdogs, at least I would.

No hotdogs...beefheart is good though (trimmed) Try not to feed anything greasy or oily or high in fat, these will not be digested well by your fish and will foul the tank.

Cut up cucumber into small pieces, frozen peas thawed, My oscar even likes frozen Broccoli thawed. Raw chicken liver cut into pieces.
There are many many healthy things to feed an Oscar without breaking the bank. Be creative.

bloodworms, brine shrimp, maket shrimp and crawfish . My oscar loves all the above but a lil too big for the brine shrimp now

I've done peas, cucumber and krill... even my pleco enjoyed the cucmber!

I feed my O Hikari Cichlid Gold, shimp pellets, freeze-dried shrimp, thawed shrimp, earthworms, crickets, and the occasional feeder convict.

I'd stay away from anything that has mammal-based proteins to feed the oscars. A good occasional food is crickets
