Hope this is the right forum. But anyways, My freaken Oscar ate one of my algae eaters today and was sort of disappointed in him. I mean the algae eater and him were together for about a week now and all of a sudden my littlier algae eater goes missing:swear:. I guess I'll have to get another somewhat bigger algae eater so that Mr.Oscar won't eat this one too. My other algae eaters are somewhat too big for Mr.Oscar to eat and therefore are doing really great with him right now.

Well, Mr.Oscar isn't a bad fish, but he's still an oscar though. I should have seen this happening. I guess that was stupid on my part.

I'm sorry :(

Thanks Mokomom. But I shouldn't blame Mr.Oscar for doing what comes natural to him. I just need to get bigger algae eaters.

Oscars like to eat anything that will fit in it's mouth. My common pleco and Oscar go at it almost everyday and the plec is large enough to defend himself. They are both about the same size - big! They are both at or over 12".

:) Don't beat yourself up & definitly don't blame the fish. That's just oscar being oscar. Choosing companions for 'O's can be exasperating depending on the individual fish. Personalities differ. One thing is key, you gotta have a large enough tank. Aquascaping to create boundries, offer hiding places & breaking line of site is always helpful. Finally, choosing fish that won't fit in the 'O's mouth. Even w/ all that in place, there's still no guarantee. 'O's are funny that way. "T"
