Haven't posted in a LOOONG time........
First the basics:
120G FW, 2 Oscars (about 8 - 9 in), 1 Gr Severum (about 5 in), 1 Firemouth (about 2.5 in). Water temp a steady 78F. Ammonia - 0, Nitrites - 0, Nitrates - ~20ppm. Water very clear. Filtration - 2 Magnum 350's, 1 Fluval 304.

Just did water change last night, the usual about 20gal. Have done probably 100 - 150 of these. It is a well established tank.
All fish look to be in absolute fantastic health. No sudden changes in anything, living area, look of fish, etc. The only thing I have done different in the last 2 weeks is I gave them some feeder crayfish (boy do they love hunting those things), after the appropriate quarrantine period.

My O's are very shy. About 1 or 1 1/2 weeks ago they started really making noise, I mean really splashing around, locking mouths. My Severum who is usually a free swimmer started taking to the back of the tank behind the plants. One of the O's spends a lot of time out in the open now. The other hides as usual but comes out to swim at the other with it's mouth open. It doesn't charge, just swims out and bumps the other one with an open mouth. The one that is in the open all the time has gone crazy though. It attacks me through the glass. If I put my face up to the glass to look at it it comes at me with mouth open and THUD, into the glass. Same if I hold a finger up to the glass. It really wants to get my finger. But when I put my hand in the water, it hides just like the other one.
Didn't mean to ramble, hope I gave enough info. Any ideas on whats going on??

P.S. to all involved, LOVE the changes since last time, good to see a lot of familiar names....

Thats normal Oscar behavior as they get older. Mine did all the same things and more. Jump at the lid sometime, break the intake tubes off the filter. Beat a heater up bad that it stopped working and generaly wreck the tank decor. You are going to have fun:D I still love oscars they are just destructive big devils.

i agree with above, mine does the same things. it attacks me through the glass all the time, and is always redecorating the tank for me.

Thanks for the responses. I know they're destructive and love to re-arrange. I actually tied the plants down to the egg crate bottom and they have managed to pull some of them up. I tried to put things back in place but.... We've just come to a understanding that I don't complain how they keep their room and they don't complain how I keep my room ......... :D

if your a lazy person oscars are good cause you dont have to do a thing apart from water changes and feeding and a bit of matanience they do the rest rearange the tank clean the gravel lol:D

they should be right but once i saw a RD rip an other RD;s mouth off:eek: in a jaw locking fight
