Oscar HITH/LLE

Sounds like you're all an oscar could ever want as a caretaker, really. HITH sucks - it's really frustrating to see this big cichlids get something like that, especially when the care regimen already seems pretty solid.
I don't think he looks like he's afflicted too badly at all though, and he's a beauty. Really great color. Skinny, somehow? ::shrugs::
 
on regards to a new filter you should check out ebay i bought a fluval 405 for really cheap money. just had to go out and buy new media for it.
 
No medicine, no amount of water changes, no new food, no anything has helped. For whatever reason his tail is slowly rotting away (even on his top fin now) and some holes are becoming deeper and looks like they are bleeding. Unfortunately, I feel like I've done all I can for him over the last 2+ years. He was a great little fish, but I plan on ending his misery. He will be properly euthanized tomorrow, I'm afraid. Thank you for trying to help and for caring enough about the situation.

I will take what I have learned and try again with what I think will be more SA Cichlids. This time I may try a Jack Dempsey and a few others. Hopefully they are not so predisposed to illness as my poor Ichabod was. I have purchased a cheap Penguin 350 to give some polishing/added filtration as well. Thanks again for all the support.
 
I used API general cure, and it cleared but left a small dent where the hole was.
 
boo dont kill the fish.. try the api stuff works great.
