oscar in 30 gallon

If an 11.5 inch Oscar is kept in a 30 gallon tank, it is imperative that a razor blade never be used to scrape the inside of the glass. The fish will grab it and use it to commit suicide in the blink of an eye.

That is not a happy fish, regardless of water change regimen.

i kept my 3 oscars in a 55 for 4 days while i was cleaning out my 150 gal

seems like there was enough space, HOWEVER i am by no means saying 3 o's will fit into a 55, thats a huge NO just making a point

an 11 1/2 inch oscar in a 30 gal is a huge NO also..thats just cruel..

i dont know about stunted..11 1/2 inches is not small..but not full size for an o..i would tell this person to get a 55 gal..50 at the least

They should upgrade to at least a 50 gallon.
In fact a 3' long 50 is much better suited to a Oscar than a 4' 55 gallon.
The 18" front to rear dimension makes a BIG difference for the fish turning around.
