Oscar Question

I was just given two huge oscars, was told the biggest one (around 12 inches) was a female and the smaller one (about 9 inches) was a male. I don't know for sure if that is what they are, but I was happy to give them a home. My question is this: The past two days I've noticed the larger one "Big Mamma" has been trying to pick up large rocks and move them, as well as picking up small rocks and putting them inside her mouth and then spitting them out. Is this normal for a oscar? I've only had/have two oscars and I've never seen them do that before. Today I watched her move a large rock with her mouth and then when I was working on the tank right afterwards I picked up that rock and she gave me a head butt. Quiet a surprise lol, then when I moved another rock she again came over and head butted my hand. Didn't try and bite me and didn't seem to care if I had my hand in the tank for other things just didn't seem to want me to move "her rocks" :)
I'm also having trouble finding anything they want to eat, I"ve got all kinds of foods and spoil all my fish at feeding time with all sorts of different foods (fresh, pellet, flakes, veggies, fruits, seafood, worms, frozen bloodworms, brine shrimp and even bought some chicken liver. I wanted beef heart but they were out of it) They don't seem interested in any of it, and don't seem interested in any of the other fish in the tank except my smaller oscar that I had in there before I got these two. Big Mamma wants to ban him to the other side of the tank lol
I've only had these two big oscars since this past saturday and was thinking they are still just getting used to the tank. Any comments would be welcomed on this :)

you cant find anything to feed these OSCARS wow maybe they are sick. i have seen oscars eat ANYTHING that was tossed into the tank.

It might well be a period of adjustment time for the O's in a new tank. Give em a few more days before you start to worrry, and keep trying them on treat food like the worms. If they are used to live feeders, you might have to go that route.
