just a rant. a guy i went to school with came over last night we got to talking fish. had not seen him in 3-4 years said he had two oscars in a 29g :headshake2:. the more we talked the worse it got they are like 6-8 inches only changes water when it gets dirty. changes all the gravel when he does a water change, changes filters every 2 weeks completely breaks down tank at every water change. told him he was crazy. he ask how i did it, i said 25 to 30% 2 times a week. plus gravel vac. is everyone sitting down? he said thats why he had 2 8 inch com plecos to clean the gravel. i was speechless to say the least. he said thats how a old timer told him to do it. i mentioned this site and he said they were fine like that but he did want a bigger tank for them. then he tried to give them to me, i tried to explain i did not have room not to mention the other fish i have. he said they will take care of that. i explained i had rather give them away. had just listed 12 of them on gl. he just laughed and said to let him know when i changed my mind.
poor fish, darn fool. maybe you can talk some sence in him, if not I hope he gives them to someone who knows that they need a huige tank!
