hi, i think that my oscars might be developing HIH. i have 2 oscars about 9" in length in a 6x2x2 as well as some smaller cichlids JD, texas green terror 4.5" and jag 2".

Anyway over the last week both of my oscars have got these pitted regions and deep regions have appeared on their lateral line. Is it uncommon for both oscars
they r a pair to devlop this at the same time.

I do water changes every week, have an internal and external pump. I feed them blood worms, pellets, shrimp, etc .

Wot do u guys think that i should treat them with? ive increased the temp from 27 to 28 degrees and added salt as well as stress coat.

27-28 degrees celcius right????..I hope so...
What size tank is it....the most common cause for HITH is stress..Check the water and add salt...

yeah degrees in celcius.

I do water changes 40% every week. However for the last week or so ive been feeding them exclusively pellets. i know some ppl say that a bored diet leads to HIH but its hard to believe.

Im going to do another water change add salt and maybe a medicine called flagal

if the HIH was from the pellets and exclusive feeding i really doubt it would only take a week for signs to surface, i would figure longer, depending on what u used to fed them.

hey thanks for ur replies,

I went to the vet to get some flagal tablets to put in. There condition dosent seem to be worsening but there still moping around.

Im continuing to do water changes as well as stress coat
