Can otos live with cichlids? Right now I have 2 chinese algae eaters and a common pleco. They appear to do fine together, however I was going to try and trade them with the LFS b4 they get too big. What should the ideal PH for otos be?

which cichlids?

oto's are generally ok with a range of pH as long as the pH is stable.

As oto's are so small, only about one to one and a half inches long, big cichlids will try to eat them. Even my small angels were trying to get at them when I first put my oto's in but the angels mouths were too small. The angels have since gotten used to the otos and don't really bother them even though the angels are a bit bigger now. Well, the oto's have grown fatter also with all the algae they're busy eating about 24/7. :)
