What chance do you think they'd have? I don't want a pleco, not a fan of theirs.

I figure it'll be a no to otos but I thought what can it hurt to ask. Reasons I'm considering:

1. They are quick as hell when another fish comes near them.

2. They are nocturnal as are the birchirs so they shouldn't get caught napping.

3. The tank is planted and has caves so there are many hiding spots, shrimp are still living in there.

Too risky.

I figured so..

I'll just add a few hundred shrimp to keep the plants cleaned and do the walls myself until I get the tank balanced.

Depending on the size of the bichir you can plan on losing 6-12 shrimp daily -Anne

LOL BeBlondie.. I was joking on the hundreds of shrimp, though it would take sometime for the 2 birchirs, about 5 or 6 inches, to eat all of them at that rate.

I had put 6 shrimp in the tank for them to eat about 2 weeks ago and there are still 4 left that I can see. They sit out in the open for the most part on top of plant leaves just munching away.

I thought maybe even the dwarf gourmais or clown loaches would eat them but nope.

your lucky my sene's just kind of looked at them and followed them for a good hour then figured they were food they wiped out a dozen overnight lol-Anne
