what kinds of algea do ottos eat? any chance they will eat brown hair or black beard? or just the green stuff on the stump?

they wouldn't eat the brown hair or green beard unless they were starving. platys or certain barbs might
good luck
:)

Ottos eat mostly diatoms (the brown algae), for brown hair and black bearded algae, you could try SAE, I've heard that sometimes they will eat them if forced to. I know American Flagfish eats green hair algae, not sure if they'll go for brown hair algae though.
