Our fish tank stinks :(

I have a ten gallon tank and it does get really smelly sometimes. This probably doesn't really work, but i put a couple of cucumber slices in the tank, and the smell went away like 4 hours later.

The rule of thumb on stocking a tank is 2 inches per gallon
(when the fish reaches full growth). Give those fish a nice home and get some small fish for your tank.

ummm.. dude, it's more like 1 inch, but your method works too, because when you stock and aquarium, less is more!

No the "rule" is one inch of adult size per gallon and 1 inch of adult size per 2 gallons for gold fish.

This rule isn't always correct though. You can't put a 24" pacu into a 29 gallon tank. Some fish also produce more waste than others. Some need lots of swimming room while other are content with a little less.

The 1 inch per gallon rule is a load of BUL* SH*T!!!!

I agree with that. Fishes of the same length will not give the same amount of bioload. It's more of a "volume" thing i think. :dive:

I dont' know. I think they honestly don't know any better... Maybe I'm being too generous.

The average pet owner isn't as smart as all of us :p: We're in the fishy elite...

You couldn't fit 11 GF that are large in a 15 gallon tank. A 15 gallon tank can't be much more than 20 inches long.

yeah, it's definetly a troll post. if you're not a trolll, Iloveadam, please present evidence now.
