I'm a Vet-served 20 years in the Air Force. Served under 5 Presidents: Ford, Carter, Reagan, Bush and Clinton. What many "Civilians" may not understand is that even if you don't agree with your Leaders (and many times I didn't!) you still have to carry on and do your job.
Our Troops don't have the easy way out and just walking off the job; they have a Duty to perform; a Duty to their Country and to their Fellow Troops.
We don't do it for the Parades; sure they are nice, but what means the most is a firm handshake and a warm Thank You (that and a Leadership -both elected and the NCO's and Officers) who will do the right thing and make sure we have the tools and equipment needed for the mission.
