In the first pic I think "Bright tank pretty fish" and I probably wouldn't pay much attention. I mean it's nice just not a show stopper.
Your after shots...AWESOME!!!!!! I LOVE what you did. What a difference!!!! Definately a show stopper now and I definately noticed how gorgeous your fish are far more. As for the black background....you just convinced me I need to change my blue to black in my 75!!
It may have taken you all day but wow you did a fantastic job. :clap: :clap: Time well spent.

Oh...I'm a black background person all the way ! Almost all of my tanks with backgrounds have the black.

Yeah. Black is definitely the way to go. I tried the blue as an experiment and, as you can see, it failed. WAY too bright.
