Outgoing cories

In your experience which are the more outgoing cories?
We have panda's but they seem to be very fragile, whenever we add some they die within a month (could also be that the job sells them too juvenile, as the two bigger ones are the ones that always survive.) Our Sterbay is very outgoing, our peppered really shy. The emerald green is always showing off and great fun to watch.
I am going out to buy other cories to go in the 55 gallon, but I'd like some that we can actually see and who would swim about a bit! Advise?

L.

How many do you have total? I originally had 2 Peppered and they tended to be shy, but I added 2 more and now they're the life of the party! They all "surf" the filter output together and I swear they compete with one another! :grinyes:

I think the "standard" stocking for Cories is 4+ preferably of the same species. There are many folks on here MUCH more experienced with Cories than I though...

Cory's

I good Cory cat to get and they are usually inexpensive are the Albino Cory Cat's. I have about 25 in a 55 gallon tank and they are always out and active, especially at feeding time. They tend to school when in larger numbers.

I have 4 julii cory cats in my ten gal. They are pretty outgoing.

Wow! 25? Do you have anyother fish in it?

My C. aeneus albinos are pretty outgoing. I have 6. When you have a larger group of Panda cories (8+) they tend to be less shy, but the less you have, the less you see them IME.

Tried a group of 6 panda's but I think the LFS sells them too young (they are tiny!) so so far the three bigger ones are the ones that survive. They are not cheap, so I am reluctant to go and buy another three...

Could I house 6 peppered cories in a 29 gallon seeing that I already have 4 australian rainbows and 12 harlequins in that tank??

And see my sig for the 55, could I really have a group of 8 to 10 cories in that tank?

I must have got a good batch, but I got 4 panda cories several months ago that came from a breeder in Louisville, KY and they have all survived very well. In fact, they seem very healthy. As is normal with cories, they spend a good deal of time lying around almost on top of each other, but when they get active they are all over the tank! They swim from top to bottom, exploring everything. Great fish to have in my opinion!

Eh? My panda cory is tougher than my julli cory. My julli cory is always the first one to fall ill in the tank, and is a bit of a picky eater. Maybe my panda isn't a good example of the species.
