I will be getting my 80 gallon tank soon. Whoo hoo! I will have 1 common pleco, 2 pictus catfish, 1 lace catfish, 2 3-spot gouramis, 2 pink kissing gouramis, 1 dwarf gourami, and 4 mixed fruit tetras. I know that some of my fish will grow very large. Will my tank be overcrowed or can I add a few more small fish?

I think you could add more as far as bioload goes, but you may have territory issues with that mix of gouramis.
At the moment all of my gouramis are schooling together. The only territoral issue I have in the tank is my pleco. He is taking over the caves and won't let my pictus catfish in them only his buddy the lace catfish. Otherwise everyone is peaceful. (For now at least.) :shark:
Most of those fish should remain small enough for that tank. The common pleco on the otherhand is likely to grow quite large. I inherited a common pleco with the tank I bought. He is atleast 14 to 15 inches long. He pretty much strips any plants clean that I try to put in the tank, and generally thrashes around enough to cause havoc.
I have a 125 gallon tank, and I think he's too big for it. I know that's not technically true, but from my perspective I'm looking to get rid of him for some smaller species.
I would consider ditching the common pleco and adding a few additional gouramies. There's a few other fish that you might consider as well. Just check the compatibility and go with what you like best.

I would add some more hiding spots if that is becoming an issue for the fish, and keep in mind that anything too small could end up as dinner. Personally, I wouldn't add anything, once those fish grow more, you may be more than maxed out already! Be patient

I think the pang. sharks are ID sharks right?? They get huge, and even the balas get too large for an 80g in my opinion, they are really skittish and if they don't have enough room to more around, they can hurt themselves pretty badly if they get spooked
I added another bigger cave the other day so he would have the small cave and the catfish would have the bigger cave. Well my pleco is a hog. I also have a lot of dectortive "seaweeds" all over too. On my plecos "good days" he will let the catfish into the small cave and he now kind of shares the big cave since he likes his smaller one better. :Angel:
