Can you make the standpipe with an adjustable hight like a second pipe that slids up and down either inside or outside of the main pipe like some skimmers do to get the water leval just right ?
Overflow rated at 3000gph....is a pump rated at 2328gph too small?

What you could do is on my durso, there was a 1" pipe coming up out of the bulkhead and a 1" to 2" slip reducer. If you used a dremel and knocked down the little lip inside the reducer you'd have a few inches of adjustment for fine tuning the water height. I don't know why I didn't think of that sooner because when I set mine up I kept taking the pipe out and taking like 1/4" off at a time until I got it where I wanted. Doh.
