what/how many fish could i add to the tank in my sig without overstocking?

thanks

in a 37 gallon i would not add more than 1 angelfish. you might be able to get a pair, but then they will beat up on any one else. it is also not recomended to have gouramis with angelfish. They do not mix well. if you want the angelfish, pick one and then get some schooling fish that are peaceful and not fin nippers, like some sort of larger tetra. When angels get larger they could start going after and eating smaller tetras.

the pleco might be okay, i am not sure about the rams. maybe one would be okay. going with 2, especially a breeeding pair will probably produce too much aggression.

Its just that most of the fish you picked are all agressive and really cant be crammed into a smaller tank like a 37 gallon.

it will also help alot if the tank is planted. if it is heavily planted you might be able to get away with 2 angel's, but be prepared to remove one if aggression arises as they grow older and establish territories.

all the fish listed are in the tank now, and there are no aggression issues, i want to know what i can add in addition to that list of fish i already have, maybe 1 more angel and a school of tetras?

thanks

Considering the size angels get to, I think you are already stretching the limilt, regardless of whether you currently have any aggression issues.

I second that, espescially considering the fact that pearl gouramies get to be about the same size.

stick with what you have. its looks like it could work in the long run unless an angel pair develops.

BTW even though lace gouramis are closely related to three spots/opalines, etc, they do not have the nasty dispostion and are one of the most peaceful gouramis besides sparkling and chocolate

What they said. If you wanted a school, something like the 2 gouramis would have to go. You could maybe add some shrimps. As far as fish go though, swimming space is your main concern. There just isn't enough for more midlevel fish.

I would guess most of the fish are young. As they get older there will be alot of aggression from the Angel fish toward each other and the Gouramis. When angels get full grown they reach 6-8 inches and become very territorial. Hopefully you will not add anything else and have another tank ready for when the trouble starts.

i will be getting a 75 or 90 gallon tank in the next month
