Pacu recipe thread

i'd actually prefer to eat a pacu, than a hamburger its much more healthy

where pacus are found naturally, they are a main food source for people. just like here, we eat sunfish, but they may find that taboo. it is just region, i wouldnt mind eating a naturally raised pacu or phirina.(sp?)
Yuck! I could never pull myself to do that!
Especially since I love to keep and raise silverdollars... one of my favorite fish!

Well I was actually looking for a recipe for my Oscars but the other way around, a food recipe for them LOL. That is when I stumbled on the most unusual fish forum to date. Thought Id share it but link is apparently banned and rightfully so because now I cant seem to maintain the right image about my Oscars anymore and the worry that they will outgrow their 60 tanks doesn't seem worry me as much.

I just need a good meal and the whole thing will be out of my head...:y220d:

recipe for oscars same as pacu fillet em dredge em in salt pepper and cornmeal slap em in the skillet

in all seriousness guys i wouldnt want to eat one of my pet fish.. but i'd never try to raise a pacu either.. but if i happened to get my hands on one pan size it may be on. on to my post..another forum a guy is goin vegetarian, and debateing giving up any fish that isnt strictly vegetarian? personally thats going a bit to far

I think I may have eaten pacu in the past, not sure though. Just because they are considered a companion animal doesn't mean they aren't made a perfectly good meat.

I draw the line at dog though, I won't eat that because they are a sacred animal in my culture.

I heard oscars are very good eating I would eat one if it was caught on my line lol. I wouldnt eat my own fish however unless I had to inorder to survive. But seeing how im heavy set I got bout 3weeks of fat reserves to live on lol
