About 2 months ago I purchased two red-bellied pacus and one has grown considerably larger compared to the other. Just wondering if males get bigger than females or vice-versa (and that might be the answer) or something else...

Thanks...

how large a tank do you have? you do know how big those fish get, correct? and, no, they won't "grow to the size of your tank"

Yes I know all the precautions and horror stories

Just wanted a little insight....

Ok, well you could vent the fish if you were really curious, as far as i know a male's nether regions look like oo where a female's looks like Oo...otherwise you may be right or they may just be growing at different speeds due to dominance or quickness to the food

Pacus are usually really hard to sex...
