So im used to seeing pictures of angel and discus bare bottom tanks. I mean I know why, its easier to clean and keep that water pristine for breeding and such. But I always hated the look of a glass bottom... but few minutes ago my girlfriend linked me some pics of what she wants to do with her turtle tank... http://www.turtles.net/showthread.php?t=90586 Spray paint the bottom to LOOK like sand substrate?!?! MAN... lol I had to stare over and over again to make sure it was real. It looks incredible! Has anyone else done this with this "sand" paint?

Good idea. Looks nicer than the plain black. Thanks for the links to the pics. :)

I haven't tried it, but I sure would. Go for it!

I do it to my tanks. I prefer the lighter gray color myself. But there are lots of colors available. I would recommend getting a solid color like tan or black to paint over the fleckstone paint as the fleckstone can be less than opaque. The fleckstone takes 3X longer to dry than regular spray paint too so be patient or you can smear it.

I've used several color combinations. All look better than I would have thought. One of the more attractive ones uses a light rock paint backed by a medium blue solid color.
