I am trying to pair my own true perculas. I started out with 2 juvenile (1-1/2 to 2 inch) fish. After about 2 weeks, the more aggressive one all but killed the other. Should I try another fish now or grow my current fish and then get a significantly smaller one and try again? The tank is a 12 gal NanoCube. Thanks.

During their first few years, my female ocellaris could be very aggressive to the male. They are great now. Maybe another small juvenile will work. You might try separating them when you introduce the new fish, so the female-to-be can see the newcomer but not pummel it.
