I have six pandas in my largest tank- I feed them Hikari Algae Wafers and Sinking Wafers, and they seem quite content. They all line up along the wall of the tank sometimes, and play leapfrog... Definitely one of my favourite fish. Always active, roaming around the tank, and occasionally the shoal scares the daylights out of my bristlenose by darting from one side of the tank to the other.

The only time I've seen my pandas pale is when I brought them home from the LFS. They lost their colour, and then about two days later, they were back to normal.

If you get a shark keep an eye on how much it picks on the corys though. Mine isn't big enough to really do anything to any of my fish, but if it was 1-2" longer he'd be able to kill everything in my tank

Cool fish though, you just need lots of little territories for it so that it isn't constantly feeling threatened.

I've noticed that in the 48 hours since I introduced my 3 pandas, one of them has become quite inactive and his dorsal fin just hangs limply to the side. He/she also seems to have a more grayish color to him/her than the other two.

Are these signs of illness or is it just from the stress of adjusting to a new environment, or possibly something else? Or maybe nothing at all? Does anybody have an answer? I sure don't.

I've had a few "pasty" cories before, especially when I first get them. I've heard that they can be very sensitive when they are young. I also know that they prefer the temperature slightly cooler than other pandas, although I don't know how much of a difference that will make. You might try feeding them high-quality food such as chopped up bloodworms (frozen) or frozen brineshrimp. Mine love both. I've bought a total of 7 pandas the past two months and only 5 survived.
