Paradise Gourami food?

Would I need to feed the Paradise Gourami (Macropodus opercularis) with some betta pellets or would tropical flakes do for the fish?

tropical falkes would do well, but you need to feed your fish a variety of foods for optimum health

They also enjoy bloodworms, brine shrimp and other protein based foods.
I have kept paradises for a couple of years and they really color up with a protein diet.

so a variety of foods, I'll be getting some brine shrimp flakes real soon (next week). That should be full of protein
