Hi Friends !

One of my Bronze cory has stopped moving and is just lying on its side. It seems to be in perfect health (no physical injuries etc) but is struggling to get up without any success. What do I do ?

Its almost many hours now and its just struggling... Should I relieve it by killing it ? Please help !

Thanks !
Kush

How many other Bronze Corys do you have? Any of the other exhibiting this bahvior?

What/when was your last addition to the tank?

Water Parameters please? ...and what/when was you last maintenance?

Was he introduced during into the tank when it was setup? (ie during the cycle)

What do you feed your Corys?

A couple of things, from my own experience (the Qs above hint to these), but I have had a few Corys become very Lethargic and seem to 'rest' nearly on their side (more like at a 45 degree angle) and then swim off a short distance and rest again for several minutes.

What I have found that in each of my cases it was either when:
- I was cycling my 1st tank (Corys do very poorly)
- Do not provide them with enough playmates, such as 3-4+ (sounds weird, but beleive me it's true that Corys need companions to survive long-term IME)
- Lack of shelter/cover (ie. too stressed)
- Illness, or rather treating other fish for an illness that stressed the Cory too much...
- or, Poor nutrition.

I have lost 3 fish from exhibting similar symptoms, and have recovered 4... :(
By correcting the above, the 4 that recovered I still have today, and has casused me to become an avid Cory-Lover! ;)
