I have one tank where the fish have what I believe to be nematodes. I'm currently trying a course of treatment and will see how it goes. My problem is that this is also one of my most prolific plant tanks. I'd like to take some of the plants and move them to my 50g that I am in the process of setting up. So, the question is, what is the best way to make sure I am just transferring the plants and not the parasites?

if the 50g will just have the plants in it, i would just qt the plants. without a host the parasites should die. Look up the lifecycle of the nematode to see how long the process should take and qt your plants for that duration.

nematodes comprise a large list of different critters.
many are parasitic. but different nematodes have different life cycles..some require intermediate hosts.
but generally most wil not survive long without a host.
qt for 4-6 weeks should wipe out most of them.
