parrot fish and barbs

You don't need a pair, and from my experience you should be fine keeping them with cory cats and barbs, as long as the barbs are not cherry barbs. Like others have said, they can't really close their mouths, so the worst they can do is chase other fish.

Yeah, I meant a blood parrot-didn't know there was a difference.

I was planning to get one once I have the 55 set up. My parents have one and i really like her. Now I'm super excited to get the 55 set up!
