Pathetic things about my LFS.

Yea, but when you are typing, it's easier to think that you are talking instead of typing. So if you not careful enough you can easily make a mistake, even with it all being so easy and with it all not being so easily detectable, you realize that you are actually not talking but typing. And that's where people get confused(for the most part.)

. . . fyi, the Lionfish tank has a large plastic lid and a larger warning sign. I'd say you have more chance of being bitten by their large noisy parrot than by a turtle or lionfish.
Not to argue, but there was only a regular canopy over it when I was there. Was the plastic lid underneath it?

As for the sign, yes, I saw the sign and read it to my kids and explained about lionfish. There are a lot of kids tall enough to reach into the tank that can't read yet. Their parents should be watching them, but most of them are fish clueless as well.

If there is a better fish store in MD/VA within a reasonable distance, please post them here. The next best I've seen is in Lynchburg.
Lynchburg? Well, spit it out -- what store? :)

I rest my case.

Roan,
Point taken on the Lionfish tank... it would be best sealed with a padlock I think.

I'll have to get back on the Lynchburg pet store. It looked like a little hole in the wall store, but their basement was stocked with tons of fish and saltwater goodies.

Of course I do work there.. but I believe I posted about this store in the older thread before I got the job there What's to love about it? The employees, the atmosphere, the broad range of products and animals.. It's two floors.. and the bottom floor is JUST fish! I'm the maintenance person there, and I clean 200 freshwater tanks every week.. We've also got 100 tanks or so of saltwater fish. Shipments come in once or twice a week depending on what all we need to get in. About once a month our manager goes out to our main fish distributor and handpicks all of the fish.. It's a fun place to shop.

Now then....its not worth the 3 hour drive to Lynchburg, but if you are in the area you shouldn't miss it. Not as big as Super Petz, but...hehe.... they had plenty of helpful people wandering around. :thm:
