Shrimp larvae, interesting! The only shrimp in the tank is my pistol... unless there's a tiny hitchiker somewhere, perhaps the 1/4" creature I thought might be an arthropod, that I figured was long gone since I haven't seen it lately... I did find it strange that they're free-swimming and attracted to light (they'd come over whenever I was using the flashlight).
I'm now seeing what are certainly pods (little roundish specs moving about on the glass), and the wrasse is feasting away. I hope there are enough inside the rocks and in my tiny refugium to prevent her from single-handedly wiping out the population, she's hunting these little critters ruthlessly! I can see why it's hard to maintain a pod population high enough to sustain a Mandarin dragonette, they're not much of a meal. I lost count of how many my girl put away in the space of about 10 minutes, you'd need zillions if they were the fish's only food!
