PC Verses T5

The PC I have are coralife but the thought was 6 new bulbs at 200 bucks thats a third of a 8x39 watt light fixture. If I sell the coralife fixture and the retro fits the price is not so shocking. Again just dont want to go in the wrong direction.

Is a fixture with 8 x 39 watt HOs considered high light?

I would say 3 maybe 4 retros like these would be good

I dont argue about the AH Supply PC's being better than the average PC's but they still use 1 reflector for 2 bulbs and the T-5's use 1 reflector per bulb and T-5HO bulbs will usually last much longer than PC bulbs

T-5HO bulbs will usually last much longer than PC bulbs

A pc bulb is essentially a t-5HO bent in half. Granted there may be differences between brands but...

I just bought 4x 65w PC bulbs straight pin 6700k on ebay from seller aquadeal for $34.49 shipped. That's cheaper than i could find the t5's for, if i had found t5's cheaper i would've just rewired t5 sockets into my ballast and gone the t5 route. I just hope they're good enough quality.

We all know the PC stuff is a yesterdays news, but if still considering them pay close attention to the reflector. I did a side by side comparison between my AH 4 x 55 and a friends normal unit(jebco maybe), it was no contest. I was looking at a AquaticLife 8x39watt with built in timer and moon lights.
