I was browsing at a LFS yesterday, and saw some tiny little puffers called "pea puffers." They were really cute. The clerk didn't know much about them, only that they remain very small (inch or less). Anybody know anything about them, like what size tank they would require, or if they should be bought in pairs, etc? The clerk was clueless. Thanks!

They are dwarf puffers. Do a search here on the forums or on the net and you'll find lots of info on them. One very recent post had a great link in it with info about them.

Definitely search the forums for "dwarf puffers".

They do stay around 1 inch, but they are messy fish for their size. They will usually only eat frozen or live food (bloodworms, brine shrimp...) and will also eat small snails. You could probably keep 1 in a 5g, but I suggest getting atleast a 10g and that would be enough room for 2-3. They can be nippy so should really be kept in a species tank.
