peacock bass question

I currently have my peacock bass in with my green terror in a 29 gallon aquarium. (don't worry, it's was just until they got big enough to move up to a larger tank) Well, the green terror just about doubled in size in a very rapid amount of time, while the peacock bass seems about the same size. Now the peacock bass doesn't seem to be eating his rosy reds as eagerly as before. I think he may be intimidated by the green terror, even though he isn't picked on and they seem to get along fine....Just looking for a suggestion or two. Should I remove the g/t or is the peacock bass just in too small a tank.. he is about 3 inches and the g/t the same, but much wider. Also, the peacock bass was eating very well when they were first put in the tank. Thanks for the help!

The GT may make the peacock feel threatened now, you never know what goes on while the lights are off, you should turn the lights off some time and stick around to see just what happens. Even if its not happening yet, when that GT gets a couple more inchs on it that peacock is gonna get its bass kicked ;) and then it will really not be eating. That is definatly too small of a tank for them and I'd say thats what your problem is.

how big is the GT?

the thing that i woulkd do is to take out the GT and jsut leave the peacock in there until he gets bigger or take out the peacock and put him in a bigger tank, one of the other. cause since the GT is bigger i think he is eating all the food and not leaving any for the peacock and the peacock is probably intimiadatied by the size of the GT and doesnt try to eat neways. if you separate them then i thin k you should be fine.

each individual fish would be better off this way anyways.

ok. thanks guys....i pretty much was leaning towards separating them....now that definitely seems like the right thing to do...the two of them are about the same length..3 inches...but the gt is much wider...thanks again for the advice
