Peacock cichlid in trouble

:help: My Blue peacock cichlid had a white thread stuck to his side which we removed. Then we placed him in a separate tank with blue in it and treated the water with salt..Is it some kind of parasite. Pl advise me regards this. My worried bout my entire tank. I have a 67g tank with 3 small oscars, 2baby pacus, a small flowerhorn, a cichlid, 2 plecos, an albino flowerhorn, an albino catfish and a red devil:wall:

what are your water parameters?

your tank is super overstocked. fish are more suceptable to disease when they are crowded.

Is it so and how do i treat the tank and the fish to prevent further spread of the disease.. My tank is 4ft by 18" by 18". I overstocked it to prevent aggression as adviced on a site on the internet. My Red Devil was chasing the flowerhorns around and stressing them out. We change the tank water (30%) every 3 days and have 3 huge pumps running as well as an undergravel filter so the water is very clean but i have a piece of driftwood in the tank which we boiled well before adding it to the aquarium

All the fish in your tank grow fast and get large, the pacus get huge and ugly. If you plan on keeping them you may need a indoor pool.
Use some type of chelated copper, I like coppersafe myself. Make sure you know what your treating before you dose your tank. If you have anchor worms you should be able to see some wigglin around. They are more common on coldwater fish - your temp should be 75-80 degrees
Scaleless fish ( mostly catfish like Botias) dont do well with copper. It ussauly kills inverts because parasites are inverts.

You have several incompatibile species in their. Some cichlids you do overstock to minimize agression. You have a bad mix of African and SA/CA fish.

Suggest you google each on the internet and see the adult sizes they reach.

You'll need about a 500g tank to handle all those monsters when they're full grown. Pacu alone can reach 2 FEET easily. The concept of heavy stocking to combat aggression is an African cichlid ONLY approach. Oscars just see heavy stocking as more things to kill.

I agree with the above posts and would suggest getting a larger setup and/or return some fish back to your LFS.

I would treat the entire tank for parasites (no need to double up on treatments though).
