Peacock Cichlid?

Our LFS got these in and I believe them to be Malawi Peacock Cichlids but not sure of which strain. Any ideas?

the tank lights malfunctioned and this was best I could get.

They look alot like Copadichromis Borleyi Kadango...beautiful fish. :thumbsup:

what size tank and how many?

size tank/numbers ?

Minimum ideal tank size - 4 feet. Say a standard 55.

Numbers - if kept as part of mixed gender tank 1 male to 2 or 3 females. A 55 could accomodate say 12 Peacocks comfortably in 4 groups of different species kept like this.

If kept as an all male group in a 55, then just 1 of these, and again say 12 in total, all male, seeking to avoid similar colourations so as to minimise/avoid conspecific aggression.

I have asked them for 2 female and 1 male. But I want to wait a couple of weeks to make sure they are healthy before I bring them home. As I said earlier, they had just been dropped off at the LFS.

Since their water and mine is almost identical, I can let them do all the work for me.
