I've had a peacock eel in my tank for about a year and a half he hasnt grown at all i never see him eat any thing offerd im not sure how hes gotten by for so long. I've tried feeding him live guppies, live ghost shrimp, frozen krill, frozen brine shrimp, frozen blood wormsall of which my other eels love. my tank is 100gal i have assorted african cichlids and a tire track i bought at the same time and he's almost two feet long now theres also a large fire eel, dinosaur bihcur, and a pleco. I test my water freqently and keep my tank clean i almost never see him half the time i think he might be dead  any advice would be greatly apreciated

ohhh....btw i may have posted in wrong topic was lookin for bottom dwellers im kinda new to online forums

I wouldn't worry too much about it as he's obviously eating otherwise it wouldn't still be alive. Are you sure it hasn't grown at all? Maybe you just don't realize it. Could also be a slower grower, I'm not familiar with the peacock eel's so I'm not sure about that. How big is it?

he's only 4" i was told he can grow to four feet like the tire track i bought at the same time and like i said tire track is almost two feet long and like two inches thick

try getting some glass worms. mosquito larvae. in MN they are abundant, i dont know about elsewhere

According to sources online the Peacock Eel only reaches 15" as an adult. This would explain the slower growth rate then the Tiretrack Eel.

IME peacock eels don't get much bigger then 7-10 inches in home aquariums. 4 inches after a year is still pretty small, mine had grown quiet a bit within a couple months. I would try live foods such as mentioned above. Another one you can try is black worms. I have had eels where all they would eat were live black worms. Also, because you have it in a tank with other aggressive fish it may not be getting the proper foos amounts. Eels are not aggressive so it may be getting out competed for food. You might want to try getting it it's own tank with more peaceful fish for this reason.

the out competing not an issue for sum reason my cichlids dont harass my eels their to busy picking on each other thats how the tire track is now almost two feet.....

I am suprised that the bichir and other two eels have not swallowed the peacock by now (a more serious concern once the tyretrack hits 36" and the fire 48").
