Peacock Gudgeon Breeding Journal

Thank you all for your support.

Unfortunately, something has happened in this tank. As is unfortunately typical, the young, sensitive wigglers were the first to go.

I am having issues discerning the type of disease I am dealing with, and would appreciate any input from those knowledgeable about fish disease and treatment.

that really sux.. sorry to hear you lost em just when it was going so well

I don't how I missed this Bio, I just read through everything & was very excited for you...until now. I'm so sorry things have gone south. But if you can get them back on track there's always a next time. Fingers crossed for you!

Yeah, the good thing is that, so far, the parents seem savable. So, I'll have round 2 eventually.

Awww, I'm so sorry! I just found this thread and was following along excitedly! I do hope you get things straightened out and will have exciting news in the near future.

just a side note for next time. do NOT use the plastic breeder trap, i just lost a bunch of newly hatched and day old fry because they swam right out of it and into the females mouths. use the net breeder instead.
at this point i have over 100 fry but i dont know what they should be eating. i may order the food from kens fish but im not sure what size. i took plants out of my main tank and added them to the 2.5 gallon fry tank and i poured in some paramecium. they are so small they cant even eat copepods. i keep a sponge filter on during the day and let them rest at night. temp is 80 degrees. i worry that they may starve due to refusal of ground up pellets and not being able to catch the live foods (paramecium, copepods, other tiny microorganisms).

Wow. Nice Journal.

I have 3 peacock gudgeons (1 pair + 1 not sure: might be male) in my 2.5 Gallon nano planted tank. I am planning to breed them. I Wish I have some good group of babies for my 90 gal tank.
